Contributions by Invitation
First Light Journal will include in every issue no more than five works authored by FLJ Contributing Writers, across the genres of poetry, short story and memoir/essay. These writers are either members of the FLJ editorial team or those who have been specifically requested by us to send in their work for inclusion in the issue.
Contributor Profiles
While we require all submissions to include a short biographical note, we do not heed them except to ascertain they are written by a person. Our motivation is to check submissions sent by AI bots or worse, unserious writers. In line with this, it is our policy, at this time, to not include biographical notes or contributor profiles in our issues. Our selection of entries is simply based on whether they have stood the test of repeated readings.
Errata
Mistakes happen. Some are worse than others. If egregious errors creep into the final version of an issue, our hope is to set things aright through the inclusion of an Errata section in the forthcoming issue of the journal. We invite readers and contributors alike to send us an email if they find any errors that need to be rectified.
The final decision to include an Errata section, as well as what goes into it, rests solely at the discretion of the editorial team.
